Pianist
Driven by a constant quest for artistic integrity and sincerity in his interpretation, Martin Jaspard (born in 2005) is a versatile musician: as well as being a pianist, he is also interested in composition and conducting. In 2026, he is awarded the Prix Jeune Soliste des Médias Francophones. He won First Prize at the Johannes Brahms International Piano Competition in Detmold in 2024, as well as other awards at various other international competitions (the Nice Côte d’Azur Competition, the Santa Cecilia Competition in Porto, etc.).
Committed to contemporary music and new works, he received a special prize at the 2022 Collioure Competition and regularly performs works by contemporary composers such as Thierry Escaich and Yves Balmer. From 2025 onwards, his own compositions have been premiered by artists such as Thomas Prechal, Paul Zientara and Lisa Chaib Auriol.
He performs at numerous festivals and venues in France, such as the Festival de la Roque d’Anthéron, where he has played at every edition since 2024, the Menton Festival, the Colmar International Festival, the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, the Lille Piano Festival, the Salle Cortot, the Grand Théâtre d’Angers… as well as abroad, in Germany, the Netherlands (notably at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw), Switzerland, Spain and Italy…
A passionate chamber musician, he forms a duo with the pianist Paul Lecocq, as well as the Trio Solal alongside violinist Oscar Hatzfeld and cellist Thomas Prechal, with whom he also recorded sonatas.
His first solo album, dedicated to Mozart and Brahms, was released in 2025. A second album, focusing on the variation form, is released by MDG Klassik in early 2027.
For the 2026–2027 season, Martin Jaspard is making his debuts at the Salle de Musique in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, as well as with the Süddeutsche Philharmonie in Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto, and also at the Bagno Konzertgalerie in Steinfurt. He will also return to the Pianissimes season, as well as at the Salle Cortot and at the Singer-Polignac Foundation.
Martin Jaspard began his musical training at the Gennevilliers Conservatoire, then at the CRR in Angers in Élisabeth Chaverdian’s class. Admitted in 2021 to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, he studied piano there with Hortense Cartier-Bresson and Fernando Rossano, followed by accompaniment with Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, as well as music analysis with Thomas Lacote. Having completed Master’s degrees in piano and chamber music, he is simultaneously pursuing studies in orchestral conducting at the CNSMDP and has conducted the Conservatoire’s laureates’ orchestra on several occasions. He is a member of the Académie Jaroussky for 2025–2026, where he works regularly with Cédric Tiberghien, and is a recipient of a grant from the Safran Foundation.
